DISTRIBUTION

Distribution of the drinking water disinfectant in the tribal villages is conducted in collaboration with our implementation partners and village health care workers.

Following a planning phase with each participating village, which includes project explanations and a project announcement within the village, the distribution day involves registering participating households, conducting a presentation for the villagers, and handing over of the refill canisters.

A Comprehensive Distribution Strategy

Participation rates among households in the villages frequently reach close to 100 percent, indicating a high level of awareness among villagers regarding the consequences of unsafe drinking water.

REGISTRATION

Every household wishing to participate in the project signs a project participation form through one representative per household, providing their name, address, and passport number.

While the project is free for all villagers, the registration forms also include a commitment to actively engage in the project, participate in awareness campaigns and surveys, and especially to use the water disinfectant daily.

DISTRIBUTION PROCESS AND REFILLS

During the registration process, each 5-liter canister of drinking water disinfectant is assigned a unique number corresponding to the household registration number. These numbered canisters are then handed over to household representatives.

These 5-liter canisters are designed for refilling. Registered households can refill their canisters when empty. For this, larger 25-liter refill-canisters are regularly delivered to each participating village and stored locally.

When the local storage level falls below a defined volume, new disinfectant in 25-liter refill-canisters is delivered to the village, and empty refill-canisters are collected.

Sometimes, when we leave a village after a long distribution day, the villagers play music or express other signs of gratitude, which is truly heartwarming and highly motivating for us.
