The Melghat Project
SWI India's Melghat project is pioneering clean water solutions and promoting climate protection – in one concept:
By implementing innovative REDO technology, villagers gain access to safe drinking water while simultaneously avoiding reliance on wood-fired methods for water disinfection.
This integrated approach not only addresses the critical need for clean water but also contributes to climate protection by mitigating deforestation and reducing carbon emissions associated with traditional water boiling practices.
The project not only addresses a fundamental human need but also fosters sustainability, biodiversity conservation, and woman empowerment in the region.
Impact – Voices From The Villages
I work as health worker in the Ghota village. REDO was distributed in our village - Ghota a few months back. Since then we add REDO solution to the drinking water and started using it; since then the range of waterborne diseases such as diarrhoea, cold cough, fever, etc has gone down.
Also, when I regularly go to visit individual households and ask them about REDO, it is observed that they all are using REDO on a daily basis for their drinking water.
